Coffee Script Classes in Charlottesville

Students learn fundamental coding concepts using Coffee Script, a beginner friendly text-based coding language. The young coders use an attractive graphical interface to generate text by pressing buttons on instructor-provided chromebooks. Some previous experience typing is helpful, but not necessary.

Maximum class size: 6 students.

Duration: 4 weeks.

Lesson length: 45 minutes.

Session 1. Sequencing and Objects

Students learn sequential execution, objects and properties.

Lessons 1 and 2. Basic coding
Students learn that coding is giving precise instructions to a computer. Students learn the concept of object and learn that each object can perform several actions.

Lessons 3 and 4. Planning
Students learn to use advanced planning to create efficient programs.

Students learn to create complex programs by storing intermediate computations into variables.
